Converse: Made By You
How do you advertise for the most iconic, beloved “sneaker” of all time? Balancing an extraordinary heritage with an almost religious level of customer loyalty was a challenge. "Made by You" was our answer.
The campaign offered the Chuck Taylor as a blank canvas for self-expression and invited the world to participate in a global exhibition. Whether it was wear and tear from a band in Tulsa, splatters from an unknown Shanghai painter, styled by a prop designer in Rio, destroyed by a bike messenger in Paris or a graffiti artist from Buenos Aires, the “art” that came of it was absolutely fascinating.
The idea was a goldmine. Everyone wanted to participate. The campaign was a huge success and ran in over 60 countries across TV, print, OOH, retail, and digital.
